Hagia Sofia Church

My 3D recreation of Hagia Sophia is a study in architectural grandeur and historical depth. I set out to capture the monument’s iconic silhouette—its massive central dome, cascading semi-domes, and elegant minarets—while preserving the sense of awe the real structure inspires. The goal was to balance accuracy with artistic interpretation, allowing the model to feel both authentic and visually striking.

A major focus of the project was the interplay of light and material. Hagia Sophia’s surfaces tell a story: warm stone, aged marble, and subtle metallic accents that shift depending on the time of day. I experimented with lighting setups to highlight the building’s monumental scale and the softness of its curves, aiming for a mood that evokes centuries of cultural and spiritual significance.

This piece also served as a technical challenge. From the complex geometry of the dome to the ornate detailing around the windows and arches, every element pushed me to refine my workflow. The result is a model that not only pays tribute to one of the world’s most important architectural landmarks but also reflects my growth as a 3D artist
